Munay Coffee was created in 2015 with its first store next to the oldest church in Ecuador located in the Andes at 10,000 feet high. The colonial building was built in
1524 in the ancient city of Liribamba, the place of origin of what is now called Ecuador.
Munay is an inspiration from a dreamer who immigrated to the United States in 1996 and worked in coffee shops, developing a special interest in high-quality coffee. He had the opportunity to attend countless conventions and taste various types of coffee from different countries in Africa and America. He then realized that the quality and aroma of our coffee were incomparable, and he took the initiative to start Munay Coffee as a tribute to our Ecuadorian nationality.
The challenge was great since a good product needs to be processed with advanced technology, which is why it did everything possible to import Diedrich machinery to Ecuador, which is the leading brand in coffee roasting technology in the world.
Finally, and perhaps the characteristic that most contributes to the development of our perfect aroma are the benefits of roasting our beans at 10,000 feet high. This allows us to reach the ideal toasting point in less time and with the use of less heat, thus preserving the intensity of the flavor and suppressing the accumulation of carbon that is what produces acidity.
This combination of characteristics ranging from using an organic high altitude coffee produced by our farmers, processed with state-of-the-art technology and roasted at the height, cannot be easily reproduced anywhere in the world. That is why Munay has managed to overcome all the adverse parameters to coffee and totally change the concept of coffee of excellence.
